Winemaker Dinner date to be announced
Chef Ed Coss and Alba Vineyard Winemaker John Altmaier will team up for a special four-course dinner on a date to be announced.
The special wine dinner will begin at 4 p.m. in the tavern with assorted canapés accompanied with Alba's Chelsea Dry Rosé. At 4:30, we will move to the dining room for:
- Katama Bay oysters on the half shell with cucumber dill relish, accompanied by Alba Dry Riesling
- Sautéed Blue Foot Shrimp with fresh chilies & tortilla wisps, accompanied by Alba Gewurztraminer
- Pork Loin Medallions au Poivre with braised fennel & grilled potatoes, accompanied by Alba Chambourcin
- Trio Chocolate Paté with raspberry anglaise, accompanied by Alba Vintage Port
Chef and winemaker will talk about the wine and food.
One of the East Coast's most award winning wineries, Alba is nestled among the rolling hills of Warren County, two miles east of the Delaware River in Finesville. It focuses on sustainable viniculture, using natural processes that promote soil health such as erosion control, native cover crops, composting and intense canopy management.
Oysters & Champagne
What could be more elegant than a Night of Oysters & Champagne? The day after Thanksgiving is set aside for enjoying some of nature's most decadent treats.
Chef Ed will choose fresh oysters based on what is best in the market at the time of the event. Each oyster is paired with a unique champagne or sparkling wine, available by the glass.
Pricing for the oysters and sparkling wine is by the piece. This enables you to take advantage of what suits your taste and pocketbook. If you just want to sample champagnes, you can. If you just want to eat oysters, you can. If someone in your group doesn't like either, our full dining room menu and tavern menu are also available. Reservations are highly recommended for the dining room.
Christmas in Milford
Christmas in Milford is a special town-wide event. After the outdoor activities downtown we invite you to come back to the Oyster House and warm up in the comfort of the dining room or tavern.
Amy brings her harp and plays Christmas music and other classical favorites in the dining room. Of course, the restaurant is decorated with our hand-made oyster shell ornaments and wreaths. We have two trees, one filled with food-themed ornaments. The dining room is still a joyous place to relax with friends during the holiday season.
